How to Book a Tennis Court
- Register on LTA website as an LTA member (this is free). LTA Advantage
- Visit the Bakewell Clubspark page to book a court. (it will ask you to login to your LTA Advantage account.
- Celebrate with FREE court hire in October from 20th October to 31st October you can book the courts for free!
- Please ensure the gate closes behind you and you take any rubbish with you off the courts. There are litter bins around the park.
- From November our regular court hire prices will commence inline with Matlock prices. However, there will be free access Monday - Friday 4pm - 6pm (daylight only) and Saturday & Sunday 2pm - 4pm - This will still require booking.
- Please note that bikes, scooters, skateboards, remote controlled cars and roller blades/skates are NOT permitted on the courts as they can damage the surface.
Rusty Rackets
We deliver our Rusty Rackets sessions in Matlock at Hall Leys Park. During these times the tennis courts are unavailable for use. These sessions are perfect for anyone who is new to tennis or who wants to get back into tennis. We have a coach on hand to help you with the basics and to improve your game whilst also having a fun and social game of tennis.
Included is racket hire but you are welcome to bring your own racket too.
- Tuesday 10am - 11am - £4 (Match Play - experienced regular players)
- Wednesdays 10am - 11am - £4 (Skills & practice - suitable for beginners) - Wednesday's session will restart in April 2026

How to Book a Tennis Court

- Matlock Hall Leys Park Tennis Courts (refurbished in 2023) Cost £6 per court per hour to hire. - These courts are gated. (Hall Leys Park Tennis courts closed for Christmas Markets on 4th to 7th December and 18th to 21st December 2025)
- Bakewell Recreation Ground Tennis Courts Cost £6 per court per hour to hire. - These courts are gated. Free use can be booked Monday - Friday 4pm - 6pm (daylight hours only) & Saturday & Sunday 2pm - 4pm. Court 1 can be booked and used for Basketball.
- Ashbourne Recreation Ground Tennis Courts are open April - October and are free to use (but please book to show how much they are used). These courts have open access.
